Stephen Coleman is in his 33rd year as a public school music educator, and currently is a band director in the Tullahoma City School system. He has served as the president of the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association, the Tennessee Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu, and TMEA from 2002 through 2004. Coleman was state chair for the National Band Association, and is a member of the Da Capo Committee. Currently he is president-elect of the Tennessee Arts Academy Foundation Board. Coleman has served TMEA as the All-State General Chair, the State Music Conference Program Chair and General Chair, and was a member of the comprehensive planning commission that developed and implemented the restructuring plan for TMEA. He has assisted the Tennessee Department of Education in the development the National Band Association’s Citation of Excellence, was a Tullahoma City Schools Teacher of the Year, and received the Friend of CMENC Award for his support of TMEA’s collegiate chapter.
