Thank you for participating in the 2020 All-Collegiate Symphony Orchestra! At this time, seating has been communicated to all participating directors and students via email.
Repertoire includes: Joy - Joseph Curiale Pictures at An Exhibition - Modest Mussorgsky/Ravel ![]() The conductor is Dr. William Wiedrich from the University of South Florida. Dr. Wiedrich is in constant demand as a guest conductor and clinician. He currently is Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of South Florida, Tampa, where he conducts the USF Symphony Orchestra and Opera Theatre, and maintains a large conducting studio. Wiedrich is also Music Director of the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra. His youth orchestra has appeared twice in Carnegie Hall and has maintained an active commissioning program of music for young orchestras. He frequently serves as an All-State conductor, most recently in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and Michigan.
The cost is $50 per student and may be paid in one lump sum by the university or by individual students. If students are paying individually, we ask the the director collect the fees and make one payment to TNMEA for the group of students from that school. Checks should be made to TMEA and should be sent by April 1 to: Michael Mann 1050 Union University Drive Box 3020 Union University Jackson, TN 38305 It is the assumption that the university will secure permission for the student to miss classes and attend the event. If a student drops from the ensemble for serious emergency, the university has the ability to send another player on that instrument. The student should pay the fee to the student they replace. TNMEA will not issue refunds. All-Collegiate Symphony Orchestra members may secure housing through the conference website (tnmea.org). TNMEA cannot cover the cost of housing; however, students may secure lodging at the TNMEA rate. The university may also make reservations on behalf of participating students. Several lodging options exist in the area and further south along Briley Parkway and Elm Hill Pike (no TNMEA rate offsite). The conference housing portal is open on the website (tnmea.org). If you have questions, please contact Michael Mann (mmann@union.edu). |
