East Tennessee
​Regional President
​Kirstine Andersen, UT-Knoxville

​Kirstine Andersen is a senior Vocal Music Education major at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she has been a member of Women’s Chorale, Chamber Singers, and reVOLution, a contemporary women’s a cappella group. She served as UTK CNAfME Chapter President, as well as Tennessee CNAfME Vice President/Public Relations officer, during 2018-19.

Andrew Greene, MTSU

​Originally from Franklin, TN, Andrew Greene is a senior double majoring in Theatre and Vocal/General Music Education at MTSU. On campus, he serves as the opera program's primary Lighting Designer and Assistant Stage Manager in the Theatre Department.

Hannah Etheridge , Bethel University

​Hannah is a Sophomore at Bethel University with a focus in Voice. She is from the small town of Newbern TN. Her activities at Bethel include Renaissance Theatre and Bethel University Singers. She’s currently serving as president in her own chapter at Bethel for CNAfME.

Cydnee Young, UT-Knoxville

​Cydnee Young is a senior at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, studying vocal music education with a minor in bassoon. She was born in Memphis, TN. She is a member of the UT Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Singers, webmaster for our CNAfME chapter, and the undergraduate music education office assistant.

Emily Deinken, Lee University

​Emily Deinken is a Junior and flutist majoring in instrumental education at Lee University, but originally from Sioux Center, Iowa. She is the President of Symphonic Band, the Student Music Events Manager, the PR Coordinator for our CNAfME chapter, and a member of Wind Ensemble.

The 2019 Tennessee CNAfME Fall Kickoff was held on Saturday, September 28, at Middle Tennessee State University with Dr. Jennifer Vannatta-Hall serving as local host.  It was a tremendous success. There was a total of 113 faculty and students in attendance.  Tennessee universities represented were:  Austin Peay State University, Belmont University, Bethel University, East Tennessee State University, Lee University, Maryville College, Middle Tennessee State University, Tennessee State University, Tennessee Tech University, University of Memphis, UT-Chattanooga, UT-Knoxville, and UT-Martin.
Dr. Bridget Sweet, Associate Professor of Music Education at the University of Illinois, gave the keynote address, “Embracing Wonderfulness, Warts, and All: Teaching Music in Middle School and Beyond.”  In addition, there were fourteen presentations given by college faculty.  During the annual Business Meeting, the 2019-20 Tennessee CNAfME state officers were elected.  They are:
East Tennessee Regional President – Kirstine Andersen, UT-Knoxville
Middle Tennessee Regional President – Andrew Greene, Middle Tennessee State University
West Tennessee Regional President – Hannah Etheridge , Bethel University
Vice President/Public Relations Officer – Cydnee Young, UT-Knoxville
Secretary – Emily Deinken, Lee University
 
The 2020 Tennessee CNAfME Fall Kickoff will be hosted by Austin Peay State University.  The date will be sometime in September.
