Call for Performing Ensembles
​
Tennessee Music Education Association members of all teaching levels and areas are encouraged to submit an application for consideration to perform at the 68th Annual TMEA Music Education Conference, January 13-16, 2027, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
​
TMEA is currently seeking applications for large ensembles (consisting of more than 20 performers) representing a wide range of genres, ensemble types, and grade levels:

Choirs: traditional choral ensembles of like or mixed voices, chamber choirs, vocal jazz ensembles, etc.

Orchestras: string orchestra or symphony orchestra

Bands: traditional concert bands (symphonic band, wind ensemble, etc.) and jazz bands (no combos). Traditional K-12 public/private school concert bands will have the opportunity to apply to perform for the Tennessee Bandmasters Association (TBA) Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony concert.

Classroom Music Ensembles: Orff ensemble, recorder ensemble, etc.

Non-Traditional or Emerging Ensembles: mariachi, steel drum, guitar ensembles, technology ensemble, etc.
An effort will be made to ensure that invited performing groups will represent a variety of levels, sizes, and genres.
The deadline to submit applications to perform is Friday, May 1st, 2026
Notification for accepted ensembles will be sent out by or before the end of May.
