Middle School Honors Band

Who May Audition? TMEA member directors may submit up to twelve 7th or 8th grade students per school to audition, with no more than three students on the same instrument.

​

Audition Requirements:

• Wind students will submit:

  • Etude

  • Chromatic scale

​

• Percussion students will submit:

  • Snare etude

  • Mallet etude

  • Chromatic scale

  • Two rudiments​​

Video Submission - Directors will upload ONE video per student through the Snap Audition Platform.

​

Ensemble Selection - Students will be represented from all three regions of Tennessee.

One-third of the ensemble will be allocated to each region. If one of the three regions do not provide enough students to fill its one-third allocation, overall scores will be used and the remaining positions will be filled from submissions in other regions.

  • 2:00 pm - 4:15 pm - First Rehearsal ​

  • 4:30 pm - 5:20 pm - Middle School Leadership Session

  • 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm - Dinner (provided)

  • 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm - Second Rehearsal

• Thursday, January 14

  • 8:30 am - 10:00 am - Rehearsal

  • 10:30 am - Concert
